Like any good mother, when Karen found out that another baby was on the way, she did what she could to help her 3-year-old son, Michael, prepare for a new sibling. They found out that the new baby was going be a girl, and day after day, night after night, Michael sang to his s sister in Mommy's tummy. He was building a bond of love with his little sister before he even met her.

The pregnancy progressed normally for Karen, an active member of the the Creek United Methodist Church in Morristown, Tennessee. In time, the labor pains came. Soon it was every five minutes, every three, every minute. But serious complications arose during delivery and Karen found herself in hours of labor. Would a C-section be required?

Finally, after a long struggle, Michael's little sister was born. But she was in very serious condition. With a siren howling in the night, the ambulance rushed the infant to the neonatal intensive care unit at St. Mary's Hospital, Knoxville, Tennessee.

The days inched by. The little girl got worse. The pediatrician had to tell the parents there is very little hope. Be prepared for the worst. Karen and her husband contacted a local cemetery about a burial plot. They had fixed up a special room in their house for t heir new baby they found themselves having to plan for a funeral. Michael, however, kept begging his parents to let him se his sister. 

"I want to sing to her," he kept saying. Week two in intensive care looked as if a funeral would come before the week was over. Michael kept nagging about singing to his sister, but kids are never allowed in Intensive Care. Karen decided to take Michael whether they liked it or not. If he didn't see his sister right then, he may never see her alive. She dressed him in an oversized scrub suit and marched him into ICU. He looked like a walking laundry basket. The head nurse recognized him as a child and bellowed, " Get that kid out of here now. No children are allowed."

The mother rose up strong in Karen, and the usually mild-mannered lady glared steel-eyed right into the head nurse's face, her lips a firm line. He is not leaving until he sings to his sister" she stated.

Then Karen towed Michael to his sister's bedside. He gazed at the tiny infant losing the battle to live. After a moment, he began tossing. In the pure-hearted voice of a 3-year-old, Michael sang: "You are my sunshine, my only sunshine, you make me happy when skies are gray." Instantly the baby girl seemed to respond. The pulse rate began to calm down and become steady.

"Keep on singing, Michael," encouraged Karen with tears in her eyes. "You never know, dear, how much I love you, please don't take my sunshine away. "As Michael sang to his sister, the baby's ragged, strained breathing became as smooth as a kitten's purr. "Keep on singing, sweetheart."

"The other night, dear, as I lay sleeping, I dreamed I held you in my arms". Michael's little sister began to relax as rest, healing rest, seemed to sweep over her. "Keep singing, Michael." Tears had now conquered the face of the bossy head nurse. Karen glowed. "You are my sunshine, my only sunshine. Please don't take my sunshine away..." 

The next, day... the very next day... the little girl was well enough to go home. Woman's Day Magazine called it The Miracle of a Brother's Song. The medical staff just called it a miracle. Karen called it a miracle of God's love.

NEVER GIVE UP ON THE PEOPLE YOU LOVE. 
LOVE IS SO INCREDIBLY POWERFUL.

The baby was born in 1992, named Marlee (pictured below). As of August, 2008, she is a 16-year old high school student who describes herself as "just like any other teenage girl." She sings in her church choir as well as school choir and is a student athletic trainer for her high school. Marlee said her gift is singing and she's glad what happened when she was born didn't keep her from that dream. (",) ♥

Rahsia Kebahagiaan Hidup & Keselamatan Jiwa

Saudara yang saya hormati..
Sebagaimana ada hukum-hukum alam yang mengatur alam ini, demikian juga ada hukum yang mengatur hubungan saudara dengan TUHAN Allah.   


HUKUM YANG PERTAMA 
TUHAN ALLAH MENGASIHI SAUDARA, DAN MEMPUNYAI SUATU RENCANA YANG INDAH BAGI HIDUP SAUDARA.   


KASIH ALLAH 
“Karena begitu kasih Allah akan dunia ini, sehingga la telah mengaruniakan AnakNya yang tunggal, supaya setiap orang yang percaya kepadaNya tidak binasa, melainkan beroleh hidup yang kekal”  Yohanes 3:16.   


RENCANA ALLAH 
(Kristus berkata), “Aku datang, supaya mereka mempunyai hidup, dan mempunyainya dalam segala kelimpahan” (suatu kehidupan yang berarti dan penuh kebahagiaan)   Yohanes 10:10b.   


Apakah sebabnya banyak orang tidak pernah mengalami kehidupan yang berkelimpahan dan penuh kebahagiaan ini?

 HUKUM YANG KEDUA 
MANUSIA PENUH DOSA DAN TERPISAH DARI TUHAN ALLAH, SEHINGGA IA TIDAK DAPAT MENGETAHUI DAN MENGALAMI KASIH DAN RENCANA ALLAH BAGI HIDUPNYA.   


MANUSIA PENUH DOSA
“Karena semua orang telah berbuat dosa dan telah kehilangan kemuliaan Allah” Roma 3:23 


Manusia diciptakan untuk bersekutu dengan Tuhan Allah, akan tetapi karena kekerasan hatinya, ia memilih jalannya sendiri sehingga persekutuannya dengan Tuhan Allah terputus. Menurut Alkitab, kekerasan hati untuk memilih jalan sendiri dan ingin bebas dari Tuhan Allah disebut dosa dan diwujudkan, baik dengan sikap melawan maupun dengan sikap masa bodoh.   


MANUSIA TERPISAH DARI TUHAN ALLAH 
“Sebab upah dosa ialah maut . . .” (terpisah dari Allah untuk selama-lamanya) Roma 6:23 


Tuhan Allah Maha Suci, sedangkan manusia penuh dosa. Karena itu ada satu jurang pemisah antara Tuhan Allah dengan manusia. Manusia selalu berusaha untuk mencari Tuhan Allah dan kehidupan yang penuh kebahagiaan melalui usahanya sen diri yaitu kehidupan yang baik, etika, filsafat dan lain-lain, namun gagal disebabkan karena dosanya.   Hukum yang ketiga memberikan kita jalan ke luar dari kesulitan ini.    


HUKUM YANG KETIGA   
YESUS KRISTUS ADALAH SATU-SATUNYA JALAN KESELAMATAN YANG TELAH DITENTUKAN OLEH TUHAN ALLAH UNTUK KEAMPUNAN DOSA MANUSIA, MELALUI DIA SAUDARA DAPAT MENGETAHUI DAN MENGALAMI KASIH DAN RENCANA ALLAH BAGI SAUDARA.   


KRISTUS MATI GANTI KITA
 “Akan tetapi Allah menunjukkan kasihNya kepada kita, oleh karena Kristus telah mati untuk kita, ketika kita masih berdosa” Roma 5:8   


KRISTUS TELAH BANGKIT PULA DARI KEMATIAN
 “…..Kristus telah mati karena dosa kita…la telah dikuburkan…Ia telah dibangkitkan pada hari yang ketiga sesuai dengan Kitab Suci,…la telah menampakkan diri kepada Kefas dan kemudian kepada kedua belas muridNya. Sesudah itu la menampakkan diri kepada lebih dari 500 saudara sekaligus.” 1 Korintus 15:3-6   


KRISTUS ADALAH SATU-SATUNYA JALAN 
Kata Yesus kepadanya, “Akulah Jalan dan Kebenaran dan Hidup. Tidak ada seorangpun yang datang kepada Bapa, kalau tidak melalui Aku”  Yohanes 14:6   


Allah telah menjembatani jurang pemisah antara manusia dengan DiriNya dengan mengirimkan AnakNya, Yesus Kristus, untuk mati di kayu salib menggantikan kita.   


Tidak cukup hanya mengetahui ketiga hukum ini . . .    


HUKUM YANG KEEMPAT 
KITA HARUS MENERIMA YESUS KRISTUS MENJADI JURUSELAMAT DAN TUHAN KITA, DENGAN MENGUNDANGNYA SECARA PRIBADI. DENGAN DEMIKIAN KITA DAPAT MENGETAHUI DAN MENGALAMI KASIH DAN RENCANA ALLAH BAGI HIDUP KITA.   


KITA HARUS MENERIMA KRISTUS
“Tetapi semua orang yang menerimaNya diberiNya kuasa supaya menjadi anak-anak Allah, yaitu mereka yang percaya dalam namaNya”  Yohanes 1:12  


 KITA MENERIMA KRISTUS DENGAN IMAN
“Sebab karena kasih karunia kamu diselamatkan oleh iman; itu bukan hasil usahamu, tetapi pemberian Allah, itu bukan hasil pekerjaanmu, jangan ada orang yang memegahkan diri” Efesus 2:8,9   


KITA MENERIMA KRISTUS, DENGAN MENGUNDANGNYA SECARA PRIBADI 


(Kristus berkata, “Lihat, Aku berdiri di muka pintu dan mengetuk, jikalau ada orang yang mendengar suaraKu dan membukakan pintu, Aku akan masuk mendapatkannya….” Wahyu 3:20   


Menerima Kristus berarti berpaling dari diri sendiri kepada Tuhan Allah, serta menyerahkan seluruh pribadi kita, yaitu akal budi, perasaan dan kemauan. Karena itu tidak cukup hanya mengerti ajaran Kristus dengan akal kita saja atau menanggapinya berdasarkan perasaan semata-mata; kita harus mengambil tindakan berdasarkan kemauan kita, untuk menyerahkan setiap segi kehidupan kita dikuasai oleh Yesus Kristus.   


SEBAGAI SATU TINDAKAN KEMAUAN, SAUDARA DAPAT MENERIMA KRISTUS SEKARANG INI JUGA DENGAN DOA BERDASARKAN IMAN. (Doa adalah percakapan dengan Tuhan) 


Berdoalah dengan kata-kata saudara sendiri. Tuhan Allah mengetahui isi hati saudara dan tidak bergantung pada kata-kata saudara. 


Berikut ini adalah satu saran doa:   


“Tuhan Yesus, saya memerlukan Dikau. Saya membuka pintu hatiku dan menerima Dikau sebagai Juruselamat dan Tuhanku. Terima kasih, karena Tuhan telah mangampuni dosa-dosaku. Kuasailah tahta hatiku. Bentuklah saya menjadi seorang pribadi yang sesuai dengan kehendak Tuhan. Amin.”   


Apakah doa ini menyatakan keinginan hati saudara? 


Kalau saudara berdoa dengan iman dan mengundang Kristus untuk menguasai hidup saudara, apakah yang akan terjadi?   


Jika demikian, ucapkanlah doa ini sekarang juga, maka Kristus akan masuk ke dalam hati dan hidup saudara sebagaimana telah dijanjikan-Nya. Yesus tidak akan mengeciwakan saudara.

Kasih Yesus Tidak Pernah Gagal

A Testimony from a Saudi Believer

"Born to a Saudi family, in Saudi Arabia, and living very close to Mecca, I grew up with strict principals and traditions of Islam and the Arab culture. As a teenager I went to the mosque five times a day in obedience to my parents. One night, while I was asleep, I had this horrible dream of me being taken into hell. 

And what I saw there brought me real fear and these dreams kept coming to me almost every night. At this point I was really wondering as to why I should be seeing hell in this manner. Suddenly one day, Jesus appeared to me and said, "Son, I am the way, the truth and the life. And if you would give your life to Me, and follow Me, I would save you from the hell that you have seen."

This came as a surprise to me, for I did not know who this Jesus was. Of course, He is mentioned in the Koran in the book Surah Mariam. He is stated as one of our prophets, but not as a Savior who could save us from hell. So I started looking out for a Christian who could give me some advise about this Jesus I have seen and possibly get one of the Christian Holy Books, which I now know is the Bible. 

But it was a difficult task for me to get any Christian to speak to me about Jesus. As you would know, Christianity is totally banned in Saudi Arabia and if a Christian is caught witnessing to a Muslim, he could be almost sure that he would be beheaded.

Then the Lord led me to an Egyptian Christian who was sick. I prayed for this man’s healing and this man gave me a Bible. Then I, by myself, started reading the Bible. By this time Jesus had become a close friend to me. Soon I started witnessing about the experience I had with all my family relations and friends. 

Soon the authorities were informed that I had converted to Christianity, and I believe this was done by one of my family members. As it states in the Koran, if someone would turn away from Islam, he is a traitor to the faith and he should be executed. So I was taken into custody and tortured. They told me that I would be beheaded if I would not turn back to Islam. But I had already made my decision that I would never turn back. 

So I told the authorities I’m willing to die for Jesus and that I would never come back to Islam. After much torture and imprisonment, I was sentenced to be beheaded. They gave me a date and a time and I told them, "You go ahead and execute me. I’m going to heaven to see Jesus. But I pray that what you would do to me would stay in your minds and not give you rest until you come to Jesus."

The appointed day and time came for my execution, and I was waiting with much anticipation, yet very much strong in my faith in Jesus. Generally the executions are carried out on the set time and date. But to my amazement, no one turned up. One hour lapsed, two hours went by, then it became three hours, and then the day passed by. And no one turned up. 

Then two days later, the authorities turned up and opened the doors and told me, "You demon! Get out from this place!" I also noticed that the main person who was determined to get me beheaded was not present when they came to release me. 

I asked them where this guy was. And with much hesitation they replied that his son had died on the same day they planned to execute me. Although I continue to go through much persecution, one thing I know is that the Lord’s hand is upon me.
